Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord, “Remember, Lord, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly. 2 Kings 20:2-3 (NIV).
God could have healed Hezekiah instantly, but God decided to take three days. I do not know why, when we get to heaven we will find out. Some people are healed instantly, for some people it is a period – it is a mystery. For some people, it is not even the number one prophet in the land, as we see in the case of Hezekiah. It is some hungry man that calls himself a prophet, that tells you that your mother is a witch. And you begin to treat the woman badly and hate her for nothing.
There are a lot of ‘prophets’ out there and a lot of them are herbalists. But they know people do not go to herbalists anymore, so they have rebranded. You have to be led by the Spirit of God consistently.
Even when the number one prophet of the land gave Hezekiah’s message, Hezekiah faced the wall and before Isaiah could walk out of the palace, Hezekiah had changed the decree. And God said to Isaiah, ‘go back and tell him this is what I am now saying.’ Profound!
