"For there are Three that bear witness in Heaven: the Father, the Word and the Spirit; and these Three are One." 1John 5:7(NKJV)

One of the most profound Truths about the Holy Spirit is His Divinity. A few so-called Christian neither believe nor accept this, some even going as far as calling Him "the Active Force of God". However, the Third Person in the Trinity is just as much God as both the Father and the Son.

When Ananias alongside his wife Sapphira tried to deceive Peter, the following exchange took place: "But Peter said, “Ananias, why has satan filled your heart to lie TO THE HOLY SPIRIT and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself?” Acts 5:3(NKJV). Shortly afterwards, Jesus then said "You have not lied to men but to God." (verse 4b) Put in a different way, the Holy Spirit is also God in Essence hence we must be reverent and careful in our dealings with Him.

As we have seen in the previous study, the Holy Spirit is referred to as "Allos Paracletos" literally meaning "Another Helper of the Same Kind." (Jn. 14:16) This simply means that the Holy Spirit shares all the Attributes of the Godhead and is worthy of worship as God. May the Lord open our eyes to the Deity of the Holy Spirit.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, we acknowledge You for Who you are. Precious Holy Spirit, unveil yourself to us in the Fullness of Your Deity in Jesus' Mighty Name. Amen.
