BIBLE READING:
GENESIS 22:1-14, 21:19
MATTHEW 6:8-34
PHILIPPIANS 4:19

"Then Abraham lifted his eyes and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by its horns. So Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son. And Abraham called the name of the place, The-Lord-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the Lord it shall be provided.” Genesis 22:13-14 (NKJV)

One of the Irrefutable Revelations of Who God is to all who believe in Him is that He is Extremely Gracious, Magnanimous and Benevolent. Among the many Names of God in the Old Testament is Jehovah Jireh (YHWH YIREH as pronounced in Hebrew) which means 'God will provide'. This is the Name Abraham called God when God provided him with a ram for a burnt offering in place of Isaac on Mount Moriah.

The true meaning of the word Jireh as it is in Hebrew is richer than our English interpretation denotes. 'Provide' in Hebrew also means 'see to it' similar to the name Hagar called God in Gen 16:13; 'The God Who Sees'. It also means 'perceive' and 'experience'. So Abraham wasn't just saying, "God gives the goods". He was saying "You see/experience my need and provide it". This is deeply personal. Because of God's Covenant with His children, He assures us of His Abundant Provision in His Word. A lot of Christians are trying to claim God's Provision as a promise to be claimed but fail to realize it is a Covenant we enter into.

Lack of understanding of the covenant is the major reason why a lot of Christians today are not enjoying God's Abundant Provision. Some of the major keys that give us access to the Covenant are:
1. Being Born Again (Gal. 3:13-14)
2. Faith in God's Word.
3. Total Obedience to God's Word and Promptings.
4. Giving* i.e., to your local Church, to Earthly parents (Ex. 20:12, Eph. 6:1-2) to Spiritual Authorities (Phil. 4:14-19, Matt. 10:41), to the poor. (Prov. 19:17, 28:27).

PRAYER:
Father, we thank You for Your Generosity and Your Commitment to provide for all our needs. Help us to see You as our Jireh and to walk in obedience to Your Word to access the Full Benefits of the Covenant in Jesus' Mighty Name. Amen!
